You guys are amazing x1,000,000

So summer is finally here! My summer has been really good and pretty busy with all of the things I am involved with. I was anticipating a summer of relaxation and rest but so far, my summer has been tiring and busy. As for new things around here, there are two summer icons, two summer comment boxes, a color chart, five new fonts, and three new girly layouts with more coming soon.

So this past week I have been a leader of vacation bible school at the church I go to with my mom. I am leading a group of kids that are in the fifth and sixth grade. They are well behaved--most of the time I keep them in line though.

I am sorry for the lack of updates lately. It's because I have been so busy--even busier then when school was in session. I am not quite sure how that works But anyway, I should be having more time now that some of the activities I was in have ended.

Well I hope everyone else's summer is going well. Oh, and I hit 1,000,000 views on Monday. If you have a site and would like to advertise on mine to get some additional hits, you can sign up. It is only $3 for one month of advertising and $5 for two months which is a great deal.

Time for a new look.

Hello everyone. As you most likely have noticed, I posted a new theme. I really like this one and I think it is going to be here for a while. The other one was just too dark. When I originally made my former layout, it was so dark that on some computers you could not even read the writing and barely see the header. I always miss having white tables as well. If you want to see the last layout, it is posted in the past site layouts section. There is not a ton of new content since my last update because I have been very busy lately. I added two new layouts: one of meadows and one of the new ipod nano. I also redid the fonts section and the PSDs section. They were looking a bit neglected.

So prom was amazing to say the least. I was one of the very few freshmen who went because it is a junior/senior prom. I went with junior my friend Ali. The prom theme was the Wizard of Oz. It was amazing the way the people in prom committee set it all up with the transition from the tornado at Dorothy's house to being in Oz then to the dance which was Emerald City with everything done in green. And if you had to use the bathroom, you had to go into the Wicked Witch of the West's house. I am definitely going to be on prom committee next year to help put the magical evening together.

Earlier today I went to get my temps because I am exactly 15.5 years old. I was so excited and I thought I was ready. I had 40 questions to answer and the maximum number I could miss would be 10. That means that if I were to miss 11, I would fail. Well I got to the 36th question with no more wrong answers left and then I missed it. I guess it is because I didn't even read the book. Hey, at least my picture turned out good. Haha. Well I get to retake the test on Tuesday because the DMV here is closed on Monday. Wish me luck!

My freshman year is finally wrapping up. I think it has been my favorite school year to date. There are only 4 more days left, 2 of which are exam days which always stress me out. We are all done with dissecting in biology which I am very happy about. It was not quite as horrible as I thought it would be because I had a wonderful partner, Ashley, who did all of the cutting and touching of the animals while I identified. We got an A+ on every dissection lab and I probably averaged a B on all of my dissection tests. Remember guys, this summer= more updates

CHAPTER 9
1)	Genetics is the field of biology devoted to understand how characteristics are transmitted from parents to offspring.
2)	The father og genetics is Gregor Mendel.
3)	Parental (P) generations are obtained by self-fertilization.
4)	Heredity is the transmission of characteristics from parents to offspring.
5)	The law of segregation states that a pair of factors is segregated or separated during the formation of gametes.
6)	Punnet squares aid in the predicting the probability that certain trats will be inherited by the offspring.
7)	Probability is the likelihood that a certain event will occur. This may be expressed by a fraction, percent, or ratio.
8)	A genotype is the genetic makeup of an organism and a phenotype is the physical trait expressed in result of the genotype.
9)	Homozygous is when the genotype is either completely dominant or completely recessive and heterozygous is when a genotype is half dominant, half recessive.
10)	The ratio of this would be 2 Xx : 2 XX

CHAPTER 10
11)	Codon is each combination of the mRNA nucleotides while anticodon is the sequence of three nucleotides.
12)	The structure of DNA is made up of repeating subunits called nucleotides while the structure of RNA is made up of a sugar molecule of every nucleotide that is ribose.
13)	The process of replication is the process of copying DNA in a cell. During this, the two nucleotides separate by unwinding and each chain serves as a template for a new nucleotide chain.
14)	Translation is the process which genetic information is copied from DNA to RNA.
15)	The process of arranging polypeptides from information encoded in mRNA is called and most commonly referred to as translation.
16)	Base pairing depends on the behavior of the bases. The rules simply state that cytosine bonds with guanine and adenine bonds with thymine.
17)	There are three types of RNA. These are Messenger RNA (RNA nucleotides in the form of a single coiled chain. mRNA carries genetic information from DNA in the nucleus), transfer RNA (Consists of a single chain of about 80 RNA nucleotides folded into a hairpin shape), and Ribosomal RNA (This is the most abundant from of RNA. rRNA consists of RNA nucleotides in a globular form).
18)	A promoter is RNA polymerase initiates RNA transcription by blinding to specific regions of DNA.
19)	The primary function of DNA is to keep genetic information so it can be passes on from generation to generation.

CHAPTER 13
20)	The chromosomal difference between male and female is male is XY while female is XX. The gender is always determined by the man in humans.
21)	During amniocentesis, the physician removes a small amount of amniotic fluid from the abdomen, the sac that surrounds the fetus, between the tenth and sixteenth weeks of pregnancy.
22)	Nondusjunction is the failure of a chromosome to separate from its homologue during meiosis.
23)	A chromosome map is a diagram that shows the linear sequence of the specific genes on a chromosome.
24)	We use genetic pedigreed to study human traits because it shows how a specific trait is inherited in a family over time, many generations
25)	A karyotype is a picture of an person’s chromosomes.
26)	Autosomal domanit is when something is partly domainit, autosomal recessive is when something is partly recessive, and sex-linked inheritance is when an trait is inherited sexually and can not be asexually.

CHAPTER 13
27)	RFLP evolves extracting DNA from a specimen of blood or other tissue and cutting it up into fragments using restriction enzymes.
28)	Transgenic organism is a host organism receiving recombinant DNA and recombinant DNA is the combination of DNA from two or more sources.
29)	A plasmid is a ring of DNA found in a bacterium in addition to its main chromosome.
30)	PCR can be used to quickly make many copies of selected segments of DNA. This works well when there is oly a very tiny amount of DNA when a lot of it.
31)	Restriction enzymes create sticky ends because they cut plasmids to make them.
32)	Gene therapy can be used for many things such as cystic fibrosis.
33)	Some advantages of genetically modified food is to enhance color of fruits and vegetables to make them more likable and appear more tasty or to make something pest resistant and a disadvantage is that this may not be very healthy for the consumer taking in this modified food.
34)	A genome is complete set of traits to make an entire organism.

CHAPTER 15
35)	In divergent evolution, two or more related populations of species evolve from a single ancestral species and things that appear to be closely related but are not at all are known as convergent evolution.
36)	In adaptive radiation, many related species evolve out of the same ancestral species. Dogs would probably be the best example of this.
37)	In the process of natural selection, organisms best suited to their environment reproduce more successfully than other organisms.
38)	Some evidence that supports the theory of evolutions is that there are new breeds of animals and plants than there were a long time ago, 1,000+ years.
39)	Some evidence that does not support the theory of evolution would be the way that this theory has been much debated and studied.
40)	A homologues feature is a similar future in many ancestors. A good example of this would be the arm flipper of a penguin, the foot of an alligator, the wing of a bat, and a human hand.
41)	An acquired trait would be a trait that is not determined by genes but instead it arises during an organisms lifetime as a result of the organism’s experience or behavior. A good example of this would be a membrane between toes (webbed).
42)	Something that is significant about the Galapagos Island finches is that the beaks of the birds there had adapted to the type of the food that they ate on the island.
43)	Charles Darwin is the creator of the theory of evolution.

CHAPTER 25
44)	The major structures of a virus are the capsid which is the protein coat surrounding the nucleic acid and the envelope which is an outer membrane like structure on the outside of most viruses.
45)	Lytic cycles of viruses a virus invades a host cell, produces new viruses, destroys the host cell, and releases the newly formed viruses. In the lysogenic cycle, the virus goes into a host cell, replicates, and remains inactive for a period of time. This could be days, months, or even years. Anything could trigger this to activate.
46)	Some effective treatments of viral diseases are vaccinations and various not so researches therapies.

CHAPTER 24
47)	Gram-positive bacteria remain in the gram strain and appear purple under a microsphere. Gram-negative bacteria do not remain the purple strain and do not take up a second pink strain instead.
48)	Bacterial calls typically lack more than one cell. Many of these organisms are very small and can only be seen under a microscope.
49)	Antibiotics are effective because they combat the bacteria by interfering with various cellular functions. For example, penicillin interferes with cell synthesis.

Hello Everyone :)

Hello everyone, long time no see . Well since my last formal update, I have added a lot of new content. Two new spring/summer layouts were added with grass and clouds, two band layouts of Panic at the Disco and Cobra Starship, a brand name layout of Nike shoes, and one new places layout was added of New York City. A brand new Contact Table section was added with two girly contact tables and two sleek/modern ones along with two contact button sets. Five new PSDs were also added of Ashlee Simpson, Dave Chappelle, Angelina Jolie, Amanda Bynes, and one random person. There are aslo 3 new Reverse style layouts.

So I went to New York City with the Art Club of my school . Since I live in Ohio, it took us 10 hours to get there. There were a total of 20 students who went on the trip. We did many things there including hanging out in Times Square, shopping in China Town, going to tons of art galleries in Chelsea, and visiting a few major museums including The Museum of Modern Art and The Metropolitan Museum of Art. The whole experience was amazing. I even got two Rolex watches in China Town.

I don't know about all of you, but I am ready for school to be out! It's not like I hate school or anything, I am just ready for a break. Since it's the end of the year in biology class, that means dissecting . Being a vegetarian, I am not looking forward to that at all. The teacher said I can work with a partner and they can do all of the cutting and such. That means that I get to sit by Ashley in bio until the end of the year . My last day of school is May 30th. I have been writing how many days of school we have left on the board in English class every day

Oh, and if you did not notice, I am using a new updating system called FanUpdate. It was reccomended to me by Faye from Vintaged.org to get rid of the loads of spam. My Cutenews also got hacked and when people went to my page, it linked them to another website.

To Kill a Mockingbird – Harper Lee________________________James Bowen-3
This book was good but a little long for my taste. It is about Scout and her brother Jem who live in Maycomb, Alabama. These kids and their friend Dill are very curious about their mysterious neighbor Boo Radely. On Dills last nicht with his aunt in Mycomb, they decide to go onto the creepy Radely’s house. I recommend his book to teenagers and young adults. Also to anyone who would want to know about what it is like to like in the country.
